Baltic Amber is the largest amber deposit in the world. Its generally occurs on the Northern Europe in the Baltic region. This amber existed since Eocene.
Most were accumulated at Sambian region of Kaliningrad, Lithuania and the Poland. The amber found between the Blue Earth strata and the Wild Earth Strata, which is estimated between 44 to 47 million years old. It is also called succinite because contain 3-8% of succinic acid. Another succinite found on the Northern Jutland of Denmark which is much older, 50 million years old. Succinite also found as far as the Rovno region of Ukraine, 40 million years old. All succinite are almost identical chemically and their appearance also the same. Because the difficulties of finding the exact age, succinite is dated as 40-50 million years old.
